📚 History of the Mathematics Bachelor Programme

The Bachelor Programme in Mathematics at FMIPA Universitas Tanjungpura officially began in 2002, based on the permit from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of National Education (Decree No. 3494/D/T/2001, dated November 9, 2001). This permit was extended through subsequent decrees in 2004 (No. 2320/D/T/2004) and 2008 (No. 1131/D/T/2008). Since 2012, academic activities have continued under the Rector’s decree on behalf of the Directorate General of Higher Education (No. 11185/D/T/KN/2012).

🎓 Academic Title

Graduates of the Bachelor Programme in Mathematics, FMIPA Universitas Tanjungpura, are awarded the academic title Sarjana Matematika (S.Mat.). This degree is conferred upon students who have successfully completed all academic requirements and obligations of the program.

🎓 Mathematics Graduate Profile

The profile of a mathematics graduate encompasses diverse roles across academic, research, and professional fields:

  1. Research Assistant
    Mathematics graduates contribute to academic and applied research by analyzing mathematical models, developing simulations, solving optimization problems, and supporting the writing of scientific papers in fields like number theory and applied mathematics.

    Graduates pursuing further studies (Master’s or Ph.D.) can become lecturers or researchers. They may teach subjects such as calculus or linear algebra, design mathematics curricula, supervise projects, and mentor students in logical and analytical thinking.
